Some people don’t just work in a shop — they become part of its foundation.
They’re the steady hand, the voice of reason, the one who teaches the new ones and keeps everyone else in line. Over time, they become more than a coworker or a boss — they become the standard everyone else measures themselves against.
This design was created in honor of Rene Shelton — a hairdresser of 30 years, a pageant director for the Miss Illinois and Miss Illinois Teen programs for 25 years, and someone who built her life around lifting others up.
She was the daughter of a 20-year Navy veteran and the mother of a 22-year Navy veteran, and she carried that same sense of pride, discipline, and loyalty into everything she did.
Rene believed in people — sometimes before they believed in themselves.
She loved her family, her friends, and her community deeply, and she had a way of bringing people together. Many described it as “the orbit that is Rene” — once you were in it, you were family.
This shirt is for the ones who are the heart of the shop, the backbone of the team, and the person everyone can count on when it matters most.
Proceeds from every sale will be donated to the Rene Shelton Scholarship Fund.
Blending vintage tattoo-style florals with classic shop culture imagery, this design honors the people who make a place more than just a place to work — they make it a place people belong.
